Bub Clothing is the embodiment of quiet strength, individualism, and beauty.
It's inspiration is deeply rooted in people that aren't afraid to be who they are. Delicate seams, plunging necklines, and tasty colors and prints are seen throughout the collection.
There is nothing ordinary about this label b ecause there is nothing ordinary about the bodies that wear it.
As the creator of bub, I believe that every person is unique in design and I want to create clothing that exudes that.
My name is Aimee Lee Spencer, I'm 29 at present, and bub clothing is the name that I design clothes under. I hail from Warren, Ohio but have set up my home in Nashville, TN. I am a self-taught clothing-creator and have found this to be my passion and my strength. I have only been sewing for about 4 years, but don't ever plan on stopping. It's been a long road of learning, making lots of mistakes, but learning and exploring through all of them! I came up with the name 'bub clothing' in a conversation I was having about my late grandmother. She was a deep inspiration for living and not being regretful. I think that she really embodied what I want to create in my concepts with fabric. She pushed the envelope and lived vivaciously, all the while always being beautifully natural. My nickname for her was Grandma Bubba, and in her passing, I decided I wanted to label all that I did with bub. It's a very dear concept to me.
My designs are ever-changing , but, so is life. I love designing "in the moment", and try to take a very simple approach to what I create. I feel like I design differently in different stages of growing. So much of what I do depends on the kind of day I've had, the music I'm listening to, the way things look out of my window....it's all very happenstance.
I see my future being that of continuing to design, mostly focusing on women's apparel, but like the future is unknown at present, we'll just have to see!
